Lesson September the 16th

SECOND WEEK OF IMPLEMENTATION

http://www.scsv.nevada.edu/~susanb/jblog/archives/2008_02.html
Lesson 1
Students worked in class on how to identify and discriminate most common English stress patterns in words. Group games really helped students when discovering and learning how patterns arise when stressing syllables within words.

Lesson 2
The topic for this lesson was a corner stone in the project since they had to do with key aspects on sentence stress: emphasizing content words. The main objectives for this lesson were:

• Singing out a rhyme to raise awareness of rhythm.
• Categorizing words according to the part of speech they belong to.
• Listening to a piece of news about Piracy and highlighting focus words (content words) on it.

FIRST WEEK OF IMPLEMENTATION

Retrieved September 10th, 2009 from http://www.flickr.com/photos/churl/250235218/

Accoring to what have been planned in the program, the two lessons for the first week of implementation were taught.

  • The kinesthetic activities turned out to be very useful for helping students to identify stressed, unstressed and reduced syllables.

  • Students enjoyed F2F tutorial on Audacity and Podomatic. There were really engaged when creating their first podcast.
